One license of Backup Exec System Recovery Manager can manage an unlimited number of clients running BESR (subject to an organization's system performance and bandwidth constraints); however, our recommendation is to purchase one BESR Manager license for every 500 clients you wish to manage whether they are Server, Small Business Server, or Desktop Editions or a mixture of all three.

Software
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is required to run Backup Exec System Recovery Manager and Backup Exec System Recovery. When you start the Backup Exec System Recovery Manager console for the first time, .NET is automatically installed if it does not already exist or an older version exists. However, it does not get installed when Backup Exec System Recovery is installed on client computers.

Note: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 must be installed on client computers before you install Management Control.
